‘A Taste of Ireland’ brings Irish culture and dance to Luhrs

The spirit of the fighting Irish took over the Luhrs Performing Arts Center Wednesday when former World Irish dance champions performed “A Taste of Ireland - The Irish Music and Dance Sensation.”
The show began with a mix of instrumental Irish songs performed with violin and guitar, and it was then followed by dancers from “Lord of the Dance,” and “Riverdance.” Throughout the evening, the performance highlighted numerous references to Irish history through the years, as well as elements of Iris...

Bieber continues to stand on business: 'SWAG II' Review

Justin Bieber fans were pleasantly surprised this week after the announcement of “SWAG II,” the eighth studio album from the musician.
Bieber has been busy in the studio, as his last album, “SWAG,” came out less than two months ago. The album’s total runtime is one hour and 16 minutes, and there are themes of love, relationships and plenty of swag from Bieber.
The album opens with “SPEED DEMON,” a track where Bieber sings about critics and personal growth, saying: “They try to say I’m out of my...

The CUB MPR was packed on Saturday for Game Show Night presented by the Activities Programming Board (APB). Snacks and refreshments were provided, along with several door prizes for participants.

APB gave out prizes to the game show winners as well as...

Mystery solved: ‘Murder on the Orient Express!’

Shippensburg University Acting Group (SUAG) brought “Murder on the Orient Express!” to campus last week with four showings. Memorial Auditorium was buzzing on Saturday, April 19, for the play adapted from Agatha Christie’s murder mystery novel.
The production was directed by Seamus Landis and Stephen Good. The plot is a classic “whodunit,” a murder mystery on a train with the detective Hercule Poirot, played by Lydia Lyman, piecing together the crime.
The Orient Express is the train owned by Mon...

New 'Snow White' review

*Spoilers ahead*
“Snow White” hit theaters on March 21 and has already received its fair share of critics. I was optimistic about Disney reimagining a classic movie in live action, but I found the movie lacking in multiple areas.
One very jarring thing about this movie is its use of CGI (computer-generated imagery). The opening scene featuring the song “Good Things Grow” caught me off guard because the background characters looked very off, almost like AI-generated videos that look like moving p...

Students at Shippensburg University took center stage Thursday night for Night at the Apollo, an event celebrating the history of the legendary Apollo Theater and the artists who made their mark there.
Held in Stewart Hall on Feb. 20, the showcase featured more than 10 student performers who covered songs by icons such as Michael Jackson, Bill Withers, Tevin Campbell and John Legend. In a nod to the Apollo’s legacy of musical diversity, the evening also included rap performances and theatrical...
